22 Oct Eightlane statement on recent forum postings
It has been brought to our attention that a number of threads on the Eightlane Forums have deviated from the usual childish and spiteful point-scoring that is the usual tone.
Following an investigation, we have confirmed this to be the case and found that on a number of occasions a sensible athletics debate between like-minded grown ups dominated certain threads.
This is totally unacceptable. Threads such as the one discussing the best and worst Cross Country courses in the UK are nothing short of informative. It is our responsibility to ensure that standards in the forum are maintained and clearly we have failed in recent weeks.
We truly regret the situation and will do everything within our power to bring it under control.
We are looking at ways to ensure that the staple of vitriol and hate return to the forums as soon as possible. In the meantime, we ask that users refrain from exercising common decency and actively look to provoke and insult their fellow posters.
